Gila folded this up- it's a great triangular tessellation. She'd been folding the square waterbomb tessellation earlier, and I guess this was the next one for her to try out!

This is Ron Resch's flexible surface fold, right? I have one in my office, not as pretty, made from this guide.

The Vegreville easter egg is also based on this fold.

it looks like it, so I'd guess maybe- but the mathematics (and folding sequence) behind this particular sort of tessellation is relatively easy, so I can't say if she followed his instructions or if she came up with it herself. either way, it's a nice design, although I'm more of a "flat fold" kind of person.

John McKeever has the largest photo set of Resch-style tessellations online, located here! he's a pretty fascinating guy with a great hand at origami.
